Boardwalk Angels

This  “Boardwalk Angels” collection was born following Super Storm Sandy,when Maureen lost her residence, along with all her treasured art supplies. For years Maureen has created handcrafted artwork, keepsakes, and gifts. As a writer, artist, and educator, Maureen wanted to give back to the people that helped her immediately after the storm - specifcally her college sorority sisters who rallied and sent care packages - filled with personal items and...a new art supply kit. Maureen wanted to paint something for each one of them and collected small pieces of the battered Long Beach boardwalk she had loved. She painted angels on them, in the purple and white colors of her sorority; the boardwalk representing the storm, and the angels representing her friends' incredible generosity and spirit.

Today she has more than 200 designs of mermaids, seahorses, beach scenes, memorial pieces, Fire Department shields, and all types of special requests. The “Boardwalk Angels” collection is the newest in her line of handcrafted artwork, keepsakes, and gifts, with a portion of the proceeds donated to Sandy relief.
